Richard A. L. Piatt
received his undergraduate
degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 1990
where he graduated “Cum Laude” with a Bachelor of
Science in Journalism. In 1993, he earned his law
degree from Capital University Law School.
Known
for the persistent manner with which he defends his
clients, Mr. Piatt has extensive experience with
representing clients in several areas of law
including criminal/traffic defense, domestic
relations, personal injury, juvenile and business
law, and civil litigation. He also has extensive
trial experience in both the presentation and
defense of cases. His prosecution experience in
various municipalities throughout Central Ohio has
given him special insight to prosecution
philosophies that assist him in the defense of
criminal/traffic cases.
In addition to his duties for the Firm, Mr. Piatt

also a National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration Instructor in the administration of
field sobriety testing and is a frequent speaker at
seminars relating to DUI defense.
