The Law Offices of Saia, Marrocco & Jensen Inc. is proud to announce that Attorney Jon Saia has been elected President of the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (OACDL). Attorney Saia will now steward the organization’s mission to further the integrity of Ohio’s criminal justice system over his one-year term.
Roughly 700 criminal defense lawyers and law students make up the OACDL. The organization is committed to addressing the many issues facing Ohio’s justice system and endeavoring to not only educate the public but to ensure that our state’s accused face a fair and just legal process.
Election results were announced last month and the reception for the new elected Officers was held at the Historic Ohio Supreme Court Building. Several judges were in attendance, including Common Pleas Court and Municipal Court Judges and an Ohio Supreme Court Justice.
The President’s Annual Superstar Seminar
On Friday, October 7, the OACDL also held the President’s Annual Superstar Seminar at the Historic Ohio Statehouse. This seminar, open to the state’s legal community, is meant to provide insight into pressing issues facing our criminal justice system.
Topics covered this year included: wrongful convictions, exoneration, abolishing of the Death Penalty in Ohio and litigation skills. The speakers included an Ohio Supreme Court Justice, a legislator, an Exoneree, and several notable trial lawyers.
