On September 24th, 2017, The Law Offices of Saia, Marrocco & Jensen Inc. sponsored Taste CLE’s Event “Tequila Fest Willoughby 2017” located in Downtown Willoughby, Ohio, a small town suburb on the east side of Cleveland. The five hour event featured over 20 tequila brands and a total of 45 different types of tequila to sample. Attendees toured the town and its restaurants, sipping tequila in the shade and listening to live music.
In an attempt to educate attendees on the effects of alcohol and how much alcohol it may take to put someone over the legal limit to drive, Taste CLE asked The Law Offices of Saia, Marrocco & Jensen Inc. Attorney, Meredith O’Brien, to set up a DUI Awareness Breathalyzer station. Attorney O’Brien performed breath tests on curious Fest goers on a Datamaster (the type of machine used at most local police stations and OHSP posts) as well as a PBT (portable breath testing device sometimes used on the side of the road by the officer prior to making an arrest). Participants were surprised to learn that it doesn’t take much alcohol to place them over the .08 limit!
The event was a block party styled success of excellent tequilas and great tacos – and hopefully educated the public on the important message of drinking responsibly.
