Incompatibility and the end of marriage

There are many reasons for a divorce, and every couple has a unique experience during the process of divorce. Sometimes couples end their marriage due to problems that arose unexpectedly, such as one spouse having an affair or a domestic violence incident. On the other hand, there are more chronic problems that a couple may have been struggling with for months or even years, such as incompatibility. Regardless of the reason, it is pivotal to handle your divorce with care.

When a couple first marries, they may be in love and feel a sense of excitement. Over time, these feelings may subside, only to be replaced by bitterness, resentment, and overall incompatibility. Moreover, some couples may not spend very much time with each other before tying the knot, only to discover that they do not get along very well when living together. To make things further complicated, there may be certain changes, such as the birth of a child, which can also change the dynamic of a relationship and lead to incompatibility.

Incompatibility may be the sole reason a couple decides to split up, or it could be connected to other factors that lead to a divorce. Regardless, couples should work to reduce the negative emotions they have and simplify their divorce experience as much as possible, which is especially true for parents.

Divorce can lead to a brighter future for both parties and there are times when people simply need to move forward in life. Our family law section offers more insight on the end of marriage.
