The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act stimulus checks are beginning to be deposited in bank accounts.
On April 13, 2020, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, informed financial institutions and creditors the COVID-19 stimulus checks are protected from federal and state action related to garnishment, attachment or execution.
There is an exception in the CARES Act allowing the stimulus funds to be garnished if a person is not current on child support payments.
